Website Manager

My journey with spinning and weaving began 20 years ago with a pet sheep whose fleece I couldn't bear to throw away. The Albury Handweavers and Spinners Guild kindly took me in and showed me how to spin and weave and I realised that our Guilds are a unique and valuable resource. When I moved closer to the Victorian Guild, I was keen to become involved and volunteer. It's very enjoyable to be amongst like minded textile friends.

You will find me running the 'Weavers on the Wild Side' WOWS Group which covers ancient [ pre multishaft loom ] textile techniques once a month. My interest is to teach and share these unusual and clever techniques.

I enjoy managing the website and setting up exhibitions online and in the Guild rooms.

The Guild's aim is to bring together those who practise handweaving, spinning and allied crafts. To help and encourage them to increase their knowledge, understanding and skills by discussion, demonstration, exhibition, teaching and the provision of quality resource materials.

In the spirit of reconciliation the Handweavers and Spinners Guild of Victoria acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people today.
